FAQ
~Henna takes around 30 minutes to dry so prepare to have the area you want henna’d to be uncovered for at least 30-45 mins.
~Make sure to avoid any oils or lotions on the area that henna will be applied.
~You want to avoid water for the first day so make sure to shower before you apply henna.
~For the following day’s shower you want to apply a generous amount of coconut oil, vaseline, or a natural balm on the stain to protect it from water.
Henna stain lasts for 2-3 weeks, depending on the after care and how much water is used to wash the stained area. The more water is used, faster the stain fades away. After paste removal, henna stains orange at first, within 12 - 24 hours, it grows darker and turns into a shade of burgundy.
YES! Henna cones are perishable, henna powder isn't.
Henna cones are made with henna powder, sugar, lavender essential oil and water.
As soon as you receive the henna cones and are not using them right away, it is highly recommended to freeze the cones. Cones last for 2 months in the freezer and for 2 weeks in the fridge. Hence why, henna cones are also mailed with priority shipping.
Henna powder however can be kept outside in a cool dark place, and has a shelf life of 2 years.
Always make sure to freeze your henna cones the SAME day they arrive to preserve them. Do NOT leave them in room temperature unless you plan to use them that same day. Henna cones are perishable items and therefore must be stored properly! We include many reminders of this on packaging and on the aftercare card.
It is very simple: to use, just take the cone out 10 minutes before you defrost and then you are good to go! When finished for the day, place back in the freezer. Place the pin back in the tip of the cone and keep them in the box they arrive in for protection and easy storage.
